Discover Toys Through Time

Toys Through Time is a self‑guided, interactive trail that explores how children have played across different generations. By engaging with a range of familiar and surprising objects, visitors are invited to compare childhood past and present, sparking conversation, curiosity and plenty of nostalgic moments.

The trail celebrates play as a shared experience — whether you’re discovering something completely new or recognising a toy from your own childhood.

What Is the Toys Through Time Trail?

The trail features a variety of toys and play objects from different periods, showing how materials, technology and ideas about play have changed over time.

You’ll encounter:

  • Traditional games and physical toys such as skipping ropes and spinning tops
  • Toys from more recent decades, including tin robots and early digital technology
  • Hands‑on opportunities that encourage visitors to try, compare and reflect

The trail is designed to be interactive and engaging, making it easy for visitors of all ages to take part.
