Family Saturday: The King in a Car Park

Saturday 5th April, 10am to 4pm

The discovery of King Richard III in a car park in Leicester in 2012 was a world-wide sensation! Join archaeologists from the University of Leicester for a day of discovery with the chance to see a 3D printed replica of the King’s skeleton; ‘Ask an Archaeologist’ with excavation director Mathew Morris; and have a go at digging up bones! You can meet a medieval knight and create a Tudor flag too!

With FREE entry for Newark and Sherwood residents.

Plus, families with children aged 12+ might like to extend their day with our fascinating talk ‘Bloody Be Thine End’ at 4.30pm, all about how modern archaeological and forensic investigation has allowed us to tell a new story about the Battle of Bosworth and the King’s death. Book online for just £5 (free to under 25s).
