Family Saturday: May the Fourth

Saturday 4th May, 10am to 3pm.

May the Fourth Be with you: a story of a son who fights in a civil war against his father, an army of soldiers who are experts in wielding weapons, a queen who goes on a dangerous mission…sound familiar?

The star wars saga drew inspiration from many real historical stories like ours of nations divided by war. We couldn’t resist a link with this special Jedi date! Families can travel through time (if not space) in our Civil War Gallery for a look at seventeenth century weapons with our learning officer. Handle historical weapons, make your own sword and learn some nifty battlefield manoevres (oh go on then you can bring a light sabre...)

Family Tours of our Civil War Gallery at 10.30, 12.30 and 2pm, drop-in family activities in our learning space all day
