A survey to collate the opinions and comments of local residents has been launched by Newark and Sherwood Council to help them in shaping their future service.
The District Council is responsible for a wide range of services that affect all residents day-to-day. From maintaining green spaces and providing sport and leisure facilities, to creating good quality homes for tenants and managing waste and recycling services, there’s lots they do in the community.
The survey which runs until Thursday 30 June 2022 asks people living or working in the district about their experience as a District Council customer, how satisfied they are with District Council services and encourages feedback about what services they think are the most important and what needs improving.
The survey consists of 16 questions and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. To take part go to: www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/survey
Councillor David Lloyd, Leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: ‘I encourage all residents and those working in the district to take part in this survey.
‘We appreciate every response submitted as it allows us to improve the service we offer across the district.
The District Council run this survey every four years and the feedback ascertained informs their Community Plan which determines the District Council’s priorities for the three year duration of that plan.
Councillor Lloyd continues, “We also compare the data we collect this year with the results we received in 2018. We can then look at what we’ve done well and what we’ve not done so well to learn for the future.
‘Since 2018 lots has happened to our service; we’ve brought our housing service in-house, achieved huge investment, introduced new ways to digitally connect with us, built many new homes and maintained business as usual through a worldwide pandemic.
‘Clearly, there’s lots that has happened in the past four years and we want to capture the thoughts of our residents so we can improve our service for them to live better lives in our community.’

All residents who complete the survey will be entitled to receive a free tree. People have a choice between a Goat Willow or Wild Cherry which people can then pick up, take home and plant in their garden.
