We’re excited to announce our third Open Doors Artist in Residence - Elizabeth Lambert. Elizabeth’s studio will be open to for visitors to see her work, meet her, try some of her techniques, and contribute stories to her residency project called Little Legends.

The studio is on the top floor of the National Civil War Centre and is open Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm.

Elizabeth is a curator, producer, artist and writer with a multidisciplinary practice. She often works with communities and other artists. Her work is about uncovering stories, investigating methods of exhibition design and encouraging other people’s agency to create. She often works in craft, design, technology and with text. Elizabeth makes sensory and interactive experiences for people to engage with and affect her work and has worked in other museums and galleries.

Elizabeth is co-founder of the artist collective, Brew Projects and a founder member of Coreset studios, a thriving and supportive artist community based in Newark. Visit here for more information: https://elizabethlambert.co.uk/ and on Instagram @bethlwork.

During her residency, Elizabeth will explore stories of Newark & Sherwood, both past and present. Her work will be inspired by artefacts, buildings and heritage sites across the district. She’ll use creative writing, research and craft to reveal local legends as well as gather modern stories from our communities. A collection of imaginative, contemporary legends will grow that can be shared throughout the district and beyond. Elizabeth is looking forward to hearing your stories too.
