The Christopher Hill Memorial Lecture 2019 will be given by historian Norah Carlin, author of The Causes of the English Revolution. She will be speaking on the subject of her forthcoming book Regicide or Revolution? What Petitioners Wanted, September 1648 - January 1649. The lecture coincides with The World Turned Upside Down exhibition at the National Civil War Centre and compliments its examination of the popular mobilisation that drove the revolution from below. The lecture will be introduced and chaired by Christopher Hill's niece, historian Poppy Corfield.
