Saturday 1st February, 2.30pm
Join Catie Gill (Literary Historian, Loughborough University) for a fascinating hour of discussion centered around Elizabeth Lilburne and the female writers of the 1600s.
The years of turmoil during the Civil War produced some of the 17th century's best examples of female courage and resilience. These women's stories are not often heard and are relatively unknown but they deserve to be recognised for speaking out during a great period of change. Catie will focus on five extraordinary women from the Civil War and the years that followed who left their mark through their autobiographies and pamphlets, telling tales of their travels and experiences as women of principle and faith.
£5 or free with admission.
